This is preliminary data from the May 22nd, 2011 severe weather outbreak where Joplin, MO took a direct hit from a tornado.

Update: the NWS has declared the Joplin MO tornado an EF-5 (an EF-5 is the strongest), with wind speeds in excess of 200 MPH (for reference, winds greater than 57 MPH are considered severe). The official death toll now stands at 122 as of 6 PM Tuesday. More info, including tornado paths, can be found on the NWS storm survey page.
