This page covers the April 14th, 2012 tornado outbreak, which was only the second day in Storm Prediction Center history where a high risk was issued the day before the event (the last time was in 2006). It was also one of the rare days with a 45% tornado probability (which translates to a nearly 1 in 2 chance that people or neighbors within 25 miles of them would see a tornado).
Saturday's severe weather threat was predicted as early as the Sunday before (April 8th), in the Storm Prediction Center's day 4-8 outlook.
